Hi, Im a noob here!! I am having difficult time catching my audio kext on my hackintosh and I heard it is possible to do with the dsdt thing. I'm currently using Dell inspiron 580 desktop and as I looked around, it uses the motherboard name: dh57m02 with H57(?) and the sound chipset is alc887.
I'm very new to this and doing the dsdt configuration seems to be very hard to do. Is there any link for step by step on how to build dsdt manually? Or is that too hard to do for a newb like I am. I searched all around but my motherboard seems to be very not familiar with other people.
Please provide me with information so that I can be part of this genious group of tonymacx86!! Thank you and I will be very appreciate it if I see kind answers for me!

Astrologija za pocetnike krstarica. Click to expand. The good news is that I think that you don't need the DSDT thing to get your audio working.I have the same exact desktop Dell inspiron 580, core i3 550.
I got my audio working since day one. This is what I selected at MultiBeast after I upgraded to SL 10.6.8 combo. Btw, I used Multibeast 3.10.0 A few days later I started to get a ot of kernel panics. I had no idea what they meant.
I tried to boot int verbose mode '-v' to see at what point the system freezes. I was seeing a couple of hex numbers and some other texts at the frozen screen. Some panics were related to my ethernet card, some of them were related to something called voodoo. I googled it, I found out that the system get paniced if there are unnecessary for incompatible kexts installed.
I removed the voodoo thing, in addition to the old installed ethernet kexts. Today, I took my desktop apart, and took a look at the motherboard closely just to see what sound chipset is that. Gosh, I spend like 20 minutes trying to see this tiny small letters in all chipsets. Finall, I could see something that starts with ACL, which I found out later it refers to Reltek audio.
Dell Dh57m02 Motherboard
I searched this forum, and I ended up selecting the following to get my audio working. Regarding the ethernet, I couldn't get the built-in card 'Broadcom Netlink Gigaethernet' to work. I had the Dell DW1525 (802.11n) WLAN PCIe Card installed and it was detected, but the appstore wasn't working. I had a very old D-link pci ethernet card, hooked it up and the appstore worked. As jester969, a forum member, told me I'll say the same to you 'Never give up!'
I'm not using Dell ST2321L as a monitor as I only bought the desktop only with monitor from Dell. I have another monitor samsung syncmaster 2333t. I can get 1920x1080 with it. I think the problem isn't the monitor but it is with your graphic card. Try to search for a compatible kext for it. I believe that your video card has Radeon HD6870 chipset. So, try to get a kext for Radeon HD6870.
Edit: I did some research and I found a kext that is compatiable with your card here. Visual studio 2010 download. Try it, i have attached it to this post. Install it with Kext Helper.

Hi first, I have a Dell Inspiron 580 running a Intel Core i5 650 Clark-dale (3.20Ghz LGA 1156) on a Foxconn SKYWALKER motherboard. Do you think this board might have SATA II? Or just the original SATA (1.0)? Do you think this board has PCI-E 2.0 16X or PCI-3.0 16X? And Last and most importantly to me, Since this is a 'Dell' board (I can't unlock the BIOS for overclocking because of it) would it be possible to upgrade the motherboard and or Processor, (Keeping the Same HDD, Video Card, Case Everything but those) and do it successfully?? I've seen questions to this unanswered elsewhere, but I was wondering if I could upgrade to a diff Foxconn/Gigabyte/Asus Board and not have Dell's 'special stuff' freak out on me?
Thanks for you Time! The H57 chipset on that board is SATA II and PCI-E 2 x 16. Regarding upgrading the m/b, the answer is yes and no.
Yes, you can replace it with another 1156 board, but that board may or may not fit in the dell case as dell often times uses non-standard mounting holes. The no portion of the answer is while you can replace the board with an ASUS or MSI, etc., your o/s is 'married' to your dell m/b and it would not be legal to migrate or re-install the o/s on anything other than a dell replacement board. That said, you can always try a direct call to Microsoft and see if they will allow a reinstall to a different board. I have had some success with this process in the past - not 100%, but not 0% either. As far as the cpu goes, you have an 1156 board and dell says the I-5 is the max. However, as an 1156, it should be able to use an I-7 760 or 875k, if you can find one. As far as the rest of the hardware, all you will need is the proper drivers.
After all that, it would be my opinion and suggestion that you NOT upgrade either, rather you would be better off building a new system as the 1156 stuff is very old and you can build a pretty good gaming system on AMD for $500-600 dollars, less o/s.
